A Fresh Take On Tulip Day
For the past three years we have celebrated Tulip Day by partnering with iBulb and Anthos to host a tulip-filled garden in San Francisco. The annual festival was a highlight of past years and filling Union Square with 100,000 tulips was the perfect way to kick off tulip season and share the joy of spring blooms!
With COVID-19 putting a stop to events and in-person gatherings, the Tulip Day festival had to be completely reimagined. The in-person event is getting transformed into a month-long celebration that will culminate in a two-day virtual festival called, "Gather Tulips."
In lieu of an in-person event flower professionals and lovers will be able to meet during the virtual event, "Gather Tulips"
Kicking-off the celebration, Sun Valley and other tulip growers have partnered with Petals for Hope to giveaway 1,000 bouquets of tulips to women on the frontline, in nursing homes, and women's shelters.
The virtual event will be held March 27-28. Gather Tulips is slated to bring together industry professionals and flower enthusiasts to share their love of tulips and learn creative ways to use the blooms in their home.
Sarah Campbell, world-renowned floral designer and host of the Gather Tulip festival says, “We are dreaming big in creating the virtual tulip festival and hoping to inspire, uplift, and bring a unique experience right into your home. 2021 will be the year of healing, and flowers play an important role in improving our lives, brightening our out-look, lowering stress, and easing sadness.”
